“Objective: In Blackjack, the player competes against the dealer by comparing cards. Ways to beat the dealer: – Get 21 points with your first two cards (called a blackjack), without the dealer having a blackjack. – Reach a final score higher than the dealer’s without exceeding 21. – Let the dealer draw additional cards until their hand exceeds 21. The player is dealt an initial hand of two cards and adds up the value of their cards. Face cards (kings, queens, and jacks) are counted as ten points. The Ace is counted as 1 point or 11 points. All other cards are counted as the numerical value indicated on the card. After receiving their initial two cards, the player has the option to “hit”, which means taking an additional card. In a given round, the player or dealer wins by having a score of 21 or having the highest score that is less than 21. Getting a score higher than 21 is called a “bust” and results in a loss. A player can win by having any final score equal to or less than 21 if the dealer busts. The dealer must take hits until their cards total 17 points. The player wins if they do not bust and have a total higher than the dealer’s. The dealer loses if they bust or have a hand lower than the player’s who did not bust. If the player and dealer have the same total points, it is called a “push”, and the player neither wins nor loses tokens for that hand.
